The new Fairfield Inn in Capitola features an intricate architectural design that required a masterful contracting job. Built on top of a parking garage, the 84 room, 95,000 square foot hotel and pool complex are located on a busy corner with no staging area. Slatter managed the job from preconstruction and permitting through construction to final installation of the guest amenities.

This project required a contractor that could manage a very complex building job and work well with Marriott International, which demands construction standards well beyond local building code requirements. Slatter proactively fulfilled Marriott’s guidelines and built a full mock room for Marriott inspectors nine months prior to construction. They worked closely with the architects, engineers and subs to resolve inconsistencies and ensure that the project moved ahead smoothly. The whole project came in on time and exactly on budget.
